Do you Really need roadside assistance?

I can hear all of the men now; “Pffft, of course not! I can change my own flat. I can diagnose almost anything wrong with my car and fix it with a piece of gum, a toothpick and a pair of needle nosed pliers.” As much as I’d like to side with my fellow yet foolish “do it yourselfers” I just can’t in good reason do that. Don’t have roadside assistance? Suck it up, you need it.

Let’s face it, having your car break down in heavy traffic can be a nightmare, and when it happens drivers stop the car, and attempt to fix the problem on the spot. AAA’s Lon Anderson says. ” getting out of your car can be extremely dangerous, taking a minor problem and turning it into a fatal accident.” You know what? he’s right. The Insurance Information Institute says to get the car to a safe place before getting out, even if this means destroying the tire, the rim, or the wheel. If the car is too damaged to drive, staying inside and using a cell phone to call for help may be safer than standing outside the car, in the flow of traffic. Sgt. Greg VanLeer of the Virginia State Police says, “if you have flares or triangles, set those out and try to stay away from traffic as much as you can.”

Of course your best bet is to just stay in your car, call a two truck and let us take care of your problem for you. Cause let’s face it, you might be a good mechanic, but being buzzed buy cars on the freeway at 75 mph, you’d also better be part cat, because you might need one of those 9 lives.
