This month marks the 25th anniversary of Acura cars in America. It was in 1986 that Acura became the first Japanese made luxury car in this country, and they have come a long way since then. Originally, there were only two models to choose from, the Legend and the Integra. These two models would start them on the path to become one of the most respected car brands in America.
The website autoevolution.com has a great article highlighting Acura’s rise to dominance in the U.S. and what they are planning on doing for the future.
Today, the Acura lineup features six distinctive models including the RL luxury performance sedan, the TL performance luxury sedan, the TSX sports sedan and all-new Sport Wagon, the turbocharged RDX luxury crossover SUV, the MDX luxury SUV and the ZDX four-door sports coupe.
For 2011, Acura offers a host of innovative features, such as Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic and Weather, Acura/ELS Surround Premium Audio System, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), a blind spot information (BSI) system and Collision Mitigating Braking System (CMBS).
